Associate Coach Dave Dougall .........Dave was born in Buffalo, New York where he grew up playing youth hockey for the Wheatfield Blades. He is a devote Buffalo Sabers fan as his family had season tickets to their games. Dave and his family moved to Tucson in 1979. He played one season of hockey in Tucson and then travled to Phoenix to play for the Junior Sharks. His parents logged many miles to take him to practice and games across the western states. .........Dave attended Canyon Del Oro High School and graduated in 1983. He received his BS degree from the University of Arizona in Operation Management in 1988. He currently works for The University of Arizona Student Unions as the C-Stores Manager. Dave has been employed at the University since 2005 and enjoys the working environment on campus. .........Dave is entering his fourth season as an Associate Coach with the Icecats. He was a member of the Icecat National Championship team in 1985. Dave was a Co-Captain for two years as he played for Coach G from 1983-1987. He was Icecat Rookie of The Year in 1984 and won Best Defenseman honors twice (1985-86 and 1986-87). Dave also received the U of A Men's Ice Hockey Athlete of The Year in 1987. He was elected into the Icecat Hall of Fame in 2001. Coach Golembiewski considers him to be a major factor in the continued success of the team. .........Dave is married to Pilar and they have four children - Cruz, Niko, Joey, and Sienna. They have been married for eighteen years as Pilar tolerates his passion for hockey and his reptile hobby. Their oldest, Cruz, is in the United States Navy, Niko is a senior at Salpointe Catholic High School, Joey and Sienna attend grade school in Tucson. |
Graduate Assistant Coach Nick Boddy .........Nick was raised in Evenston Illinois in the Chicago area and moved to Montana in 1997. He graduated high school from Gilmour Academy in Cleveland, Ohio in 2002 and played junior hockey in the NAHL and Nor-Pac for three years where he was named MVP in 2004 before attending the University of Arizona in 2005. He is corrently finishing up a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and will graduate in December 2009. .........In Nick's four year career as an Icecat here at the University of Arizona he has been named MVP 2 years, received the Glenn Hall goalie award 4 years, named captain, and has lead the Icecat's all time gaalie statistics in catagorys such as Goals Against, Save Percentage, Games Played, Points, as well as Shutouts. He went to Nationals once in his four years as an Icecat. .........This is Nick's first year as an Assistant Grad Coach. He also attended as well as assisted in numerous goalie clinics. |
