Hello from the Arizona Icecats,

.....All of us associated with the University of Arizona Icecat Hockey team are excited about the upcoming season as we embark on our 28th year. In 27 seasons (555 wins - 151 losses - 20 ties), the Icecats have won a National Tournament (1985), appeared in 8 Final Fours ('84, '86, '87, '88, '91, '93, '94, '97) and 11 Elite Eights. This past season, with an influx of new players, the Icecats went to the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) national championship tournament and finished the season ranked 12th, out of 48 ACHA Division I schools, in the nation.

.....The Icecats play their home games at the Tucson Convention Center (TCC) arena, "The Madhouse on Main Street", where last year over 75,000 fans came to watch exciting collegiate hockey action. We are one of the top draw's in all of collegiate club hockey and our game attendance in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) is unmatched. Home games are broadcast on radio and the worldwide web as well.

.....The biggest misconception about our team though is its funding. The University of Arizona Icecats, affiliated with the U of A Department of Club Sports, receives no funding from the University, its athletic department or any state funds. Icecat Hockey, Inc., as its funding agent, raises money in order to rent the Tucson Convention Center for our games and practice, travel and provide equipment. How?

.....We rely solely on sponsors, season ticket holders, Souvenir sales (not TCC concession sales) and walk up attendance to continue to put together one of the most popular team sports at the University of Arizona. Your help and support is greatly needed and appreciated for the team to continue to represent the University of Arizona and the City of Tucson proudly. Please consider making our 28th year the most successful one ever.
